Volunteering “(…) is the set of actions of social and community interest, carried out in a disinterested manner by people, in the field of projects, programs and other forms of intervention to the service of individuals, families and the community, developed non -profit by public or private entities. ” (Article 2 of Law No. 71/98, of November 3).

According to Article 3 of Law No. 71/98, of November 3, volunteer “It is the individual who free, disinterested and responsible, compromises, according to his own skills and in his free time, to carry out volunteering actions within the scope of a promoting organization. ”
